Leander High School •

My Sports: Mary Nell (Nelly) has been playing basketball for 8 years and flag football for 1.5 years. She was a freshman starter on the varsity basketball team at Leander High and continues to start as a shooting guard. After several years of playing recreational and select basketball, Nelly has recently fallen in love with flag football. After only one and a half years at this sport, she is part of the reigning National Champion team with Texas Fury and 15u Team USA. In addition to being the National Champ, she has four other championship rings from multiple nationwide tournaments.

Specialties: She plays both offense as a wide receiver and defense as a corner and safety.

Clubs & Activities: Nelly has been involved in her church’s children’s and preschool ministry for five years. Her coaching goal is to use her love for sports to help inspire younger athletes to continue playing and developing into stronger, more competitive athletes.
